In 2022, he became one of the defendants in the case of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions. In December 2022, he was sentenced to 2 years in prison for “gross violation of order” (Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code).
The leaders of the “Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions” were detained on April 19, 2022, and the houses of the association’s chairman Alexander Yarashuk and Sergei Antusevich were searched. The BKDP itself was liquidated by decision of the Supreme Court.
On October 31, 2023, he was released upon expiration of his sentence.

On April 19, 2022, searches were conducted at Alexander's place of work and residence, equipment was seized. Yaroshuk was detained and placed in a pretrial detention center.

Yuri was detained at work on November 19, 2021. He was sentenced to 15 days in prison under an administrative offense, after which a criminal case was opened and he was transferred to a pretrial detention center.
He initially served his sentence in IK-2, and in December 2023 he was transferred to IK-22.
In August 2025, he was released , having fully served his sentence.

According to human rights activists, he was released in April 2023 after the expiration of his sentence.

2 years of restriction of freedom with referral to an open-type correctional facility. 16.08.2022 tightened the regime of serving the sentence. Transferred to the colony for 8 months.
He removed the state flag of the Republic of Belarus from the building of the rural House of Culture in the village of Nikitichi, Mogilev District, and took it to his garage.
