Ruslan, a member of presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya's initiative group from Mozyr, was arrested on August 19, 2020, a day after the end of a 10-day administrative arrest for participating in an unauthorized mass event. During the first arrest, BT and ONT TV channels aired stories claiming that he was allegedly making "hedgehogs" to block police equipment, but the video showed another person.
Ruslan was later convicted in the case of “mass riots.”
Trial outcome 03.03.2021: 5 years of imprisonment in colony under enhanced security conditions.
Appeal 19.05.2021: the sentence was upheld.
