We are a human rights organization that helps political prisoners in Belarus and former political prisoners of the Lukashenko regime. We provide humanitarian support, assist with re-socialization, and advocate for their rights and interests.
We work to:
Make repression in Belarus visible and documented
Protect and support victims of the Lukashenko regime
Promote justice and accountability for those responsible
Uphold international human rights standards and raise public awareness of what is happening in Belarus
Human rights work
We document human rights violations in Belarus, maintain a database of political prisoners, track criminal and administrative prosecutions, and collect data on those involved in repression.
Humanitarian work
We help political prisoners and their families: we organize correspondence, parcels and packages, find guardians for direct family support, and provide material and legal assistance to those released.
Research work
We study how repression destructively affects people's lives and analyze the legal situation in Belarus to document the systemic consequences of persecution.
Extremist status
Since November 29, 2023, Dissidentby has been recognized as an "extremist organization" in Belarus.
This decision does not reflect our work. It reflects the degree of pressure the regime exerts on independent human rights activities.
