Andrei was detained by GUBOPiK and SOBR officers. From October 2020 to November 2023, according to the prosecution, he administered an open group on Odnoklassniki, where he published materials critical of Lukashenko and a post denying the massacre of civilians in the village of Khatyn on March 22, 1943, by soldiers of the 118th Schutzmannschaft Battalion of the Security Police and the SS Special Battalion Otto Dirlewanger.
In October 2024, Andrei received the first sentence in Belarus for "denying the genocide of the Belarusian people" – three years in a general regime penal colony. He was also found guilty of "insulting" Lukashenko.
On December 13, 2025, he was released following a visit to Minsk by US President Donald Trump's special representative, Keith Kellogg, and taken to Ukraine.
Tatyana was convicted in November 2024 in a criminal case opened under the articles "assistance to extremist activity," "creation of an extremist group or participation therein," and "insulting a government official," and sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony.
