Alexander Eliseev is a social activist from Kalenkovichi . He was a member of the United Civil Party, which was liquidated in Belarus . Eliseev participated in numerous independent election observations at various levels, and because he witnessed violations of democratic procedures in all of them, he argued that the decisions of an illegitimate government cannot be implemented.

In 2020 and later, authorities detained him and imposed lengthy administrative arrests . During one of these arrests, he went on a hunger strike. This was in February 2022, when he was arrested five days before the Russian occupation army began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Alexander refused to pay the fines imposed on him for politically motivated administrative charges.

In November 2025, it became known that Alexander was being held in a pretrial detention center in Mogilev. According to preliminary information, he is accused of treason and insulting Lukashenko.
