In December 2024, Roman Yemelyanov was already subjected to repression in an administrative politically motivated case. He was accused of violating the procedure for organizing and holding mass events under Part 1 of Article 24.23 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. At the same time, there have been no mass events in Chechersk in recent years, except for those organized by the authorities. This persecution was probably for some posts on social networks, which the punitive structures of the ruling regime interpret as pickets, since people express some opinions through them.

Igor Shukanov was demonstratively and harshly detained on August 1, 2024. The GUBOP came for him from Minsk. He was detained right at his workplace. In January 2022, Svetlana's future husband, Stanislav, was sentenced to three years under Articles 342 and 364 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. Svetlana, who was deeply concerned about his fate, brought him parcels. On February 24, 2022, Svetlana Yakubovich married Stanislav, who was still in prison at the time. In December 2023, Stanislav was released, having fully served his sentence. A year later, the couple was arrested on a new criminal charge.

Details of the persecution of the Ukrainian gamekeeper became known from a propaganda film on September 11, 2023, which was shown on all state channels at once. In it, Vyacheslav was led on a chain during the investigation. The State Security Committee reported that it had detained six people in Belarus on charges of collaborating with the "Security Service of Ukraine" and "preparing terrorist attacks." In the video, some of them look beaten, some are led on chains during the investigation, and one of the detainees was filmed in the KGB pre-trial detention center. As a result, three people were charged under six articles of the Criminal Code at once, including "Treason" and "agent activity."
Ukrainian ranger Vyacheslav Borodiy was detained on September 1, 2023, in the Yelsky district of Belarus, bordering the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine. It is known that Vyacheslav was born in the Zhytomyr region, lived in Mozyr for some time, and then returned to Ukraine and worked as a ranger, raising three children. The film said that after the start of a full-scale war, Borodiy allegedly underwent training at the training center of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and that "since March 2023, in addition to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, he began to cooperate with the Security Service of Ukraine."

On April 3, 2025, the KGB of Belarus recognized the page on the social network X with the name "what's going on" as an "extremist formation". At the same time, the punishers named Yulia Viktorovna Kostyuchenko, born August 5, 1995, as involved in this "formation".
According to the materials of the prosecution, Igor Alkhov allegedly wanted to blow up an administrative building in Gomel on Biletsky Street in order to hinder political activity, intimidate the population and destabilize public order. He was also accused of insulting A.L. Lukashenko in social networks.
During the trial and after the results of the psychiatric examination, Igor was found to have mental disorders, at the time of the crime he could not realize the significance of his actions and direct them, was not capable of an adequate perception of reality.

Stanislav, an activist from Gomel, was detained on May 28, 2021, after security forces conducted a search in his apartment, where he lived with his parents. Prior to this, he had served three administrative arrests under Article 24.23 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus for participating in protests.
Stanislav was convicted under two criminal articles for participating in a chain at the Solidarity March, which took place on September 20, 2020 in Gomel. He refused to sign a petition for pardon and defended his rights even in difficult prison conditions, despite health problems. He was left without care for his underage daughter and elderly parents, his father is disabled.
He was released in December 2023, having fully served his sentence.
In December 2024, it became known that Stanislav was again detained in a new criminal case.

He was pardoned on November 22, 2025, along with 31 other Ukrainian citizens. According to Lukashenko's press service, this occurred as part of "agreements reached" with US President Donald Trump and "at the request of the Ukrainian side in order to create conditions for resolving the armed conflict in the neighboring state." The released citizens were immediately handed over to the Ukrainian side.
