In 2020, a criminal case was opened against Yan, the editor of the NEXTA Telegram channels, under a number of articles, including "organizing mass riots" and "inciting hatred." As part of the special proceedings, in May 2023, he was convicted in absentia and sentenced to a long term of imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony. According to the Belarusian state news agency BelTA, the defendants in the "case" are accused of committing at least 1,586 crimes, and a claim for more than 30 million rubles has been filed.
Earlier, the KGB included Yan on the “terrorist list”, and the NEXTA channel in Belarus was recognized as a “terrorist organization”.

Igor is a former officer of the Almaz special forces unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a captain at the time of his dismissal. He is credited with participating in the brutal dispersal of protesters at the intersection of Pushkin and Pritytskogo streets (Pushkinskaya metro station) in Minsk in 2020. At that time, a group of armed security forces in full gear left the Almaz base and headed towards Pushkinskaya, simultaneously shooting point-blank at civilians.
According to available information, Igor decided to leave the service after receiving an order to detain Maria Kolesnikova, who was kidnapped on the street in Minsk in September 2020.
Since the beginning of the war, which began in February 2022, Igor defended Ukraine, fought in the "Sakhashchik detachment" as part of the 79th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It included radical individuals, including former and current military personnel, law enforcement officers, athletes and businessmen, who sought to seize power illegally." The case involves charges of attempting to set fire to the home of MP Oleg Gaidukevich in June 2021 and "organizing mass riots."
For the second time, as part of a special proceeding, Vadim was convicted in December of the same year under articles on “inciting hatred and discord,” “slander and insult of Lukashenko,” and “insulting a government official.”
In December 2024, it became known that a new special case had been opened against Vadim on four more criminal charges, including “creation of an extremist group” and “undergoing training to participate in extremist activity.”
