Belarusian and Ukrainian singer, poet, and songwriter, and the leader of the punk rock band Brutto. He was one of the founders and the leader of the Belarusian punk rock band Lyapis Trubetskoy (1989–2014, 2022–present). He is an Honored Artist of Ukraine.
He has repeatedly publicly expressed his criticism of President Lukashenko. In 2020, he supported the protests and indefinite strike in Belarus.
He resumed his activities with the Lyapis Trubetskoy group amid Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine and launched a tour of Europe and North America in support of the Ukrainian side.
Belarusian authorities have opened a criminal case against the musician. Since he lives outside of Belarus, the criminal prosecution will be conducted in absentia, and he may subsequently be convicted in absentia. Meanwhile, the authorities have asked the musician to appear before investigators in Minsk.

Vladimir Novik graduated from the Belarusian State University of Transport with a degree in Industrial and Civil Engineering, but later trained as an IT specialist in Java Enterprise and worked at Java Developed, a software development company.
Alexey graduated from the Belarusian State Medical University in 2018 and defended his master's thesis in medical sciences the following year. He later continued his studies in graduate school.
Since the end of 2022, Sosnovsky has worked as an assistant in the Department of Radiation Medicine and Ecology at the Belarusian State Medical University. He has authored 20 publications and written a dissertation on radon in the air as a radiation risk factor for health.
At the same time, the man worked as a tutor, preparing schoolchildren for the Centralized Testing and Olympiads in chemistry and biology.
