Evgeny was arrested in connection with a criminal case opened under nine articles of the Criminal Code. The charges stemmed from comments on Telegram and transfers of 0.28 and 0.004 bitcoins to Telegram channel administrators.
In addition, from December 2019 to January 2020, Evgeny acquired "especially dangerous psychotropic substances," and in Russia, in the Bryansk region, he purchased a firearm—a Makarov pistol (PM)—and at least 46 rounds of ammunition.
At the court hearing, Yevgeny explained that he disagreed with the results of the 2020 presidential elections in Belarus and that this is why he decided to take action.
The trial lasted nearly four months. In June 2022, Evgeny was found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment in a maximum-security penal colony.
