The essence of the charges is briefly stated: they were on the roadway in Baranavichy, shouting slogans, displaying white-red-white flags, “deliberately obstructing the movement of traffic and the normal functioning of enterprises and organizations.” The exact date when the protests took place is not even indicated, it is simply called “August 2020.”
Thus, in 2024, 25 residents of Baranavichy have already been sentenced for the protests of August 2020. All were sentenced to a prison colony for a period of 1 to 3 years (the only exception was that a woman with a child under 3 years of age was sentenced to a suspended sentence).

Vladislav was found guilty under Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus for participating in protests in Brest on the night of August 10-11, 2020.
On May 31, 2024, the appeal was heard and the verdict came into force.
Konstantin was detained in October 2023 upon returning to Belarus from Poland, where he had most recently lived. He was accused of posting “numerous offensive comments” and later convicted of several online statements that, according to the prosecution, contained negative assessments of Lukashenko. Konstantin was also charged with insulting government officials, but this was dropped due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
In September 2024, he was released under a pardon.

On August 09, 2023, he was detained at an airport in the Russian Federation when he tried to fly to Georgia through Russia. Soon he was handed over to Belarusian law enforcement agencies and Alexander was taken into custody.
On December 15, 2023, the appeal was considered and the verdict entered into force.

The man was accused of writing a message about A. Lukashenko “in one of the telegram chats” on October 21, 2021. This comment was considered offensive.

XX.01.2025 Valentin was sentenced to 5 years in prison for "eight comments on the topic of Russian aggression" and for joining an extremist group. He came to the colony after a stroke. Valentin died in early 2025. It is not certain whether Shtermer died in the colony or was taken to a hospital - a prison or civilian one. Detailed information is hidden by the RB regime.
According to pro-government Telegram channels, Valentin was detained on June 9, 2023, for "eight comments on the topic of Russian aggression with insults to Russian citizens," by which he allegedly "attempted to incite ethnic hatred." It is also reported that insults were left against Lukashenko.
Before his arrest, Valentin Shtermer was the director of Avangardbiznesresurs LLC and was the founder of commercial firms in Russia. The court found Stormer guilty of joining an extremist group for the purpose of committing an extremist crime.
On 01.12.2023, the appeal was heard and the verdict came into force.
He came to the colony after a stroke. "Valentin spoke very slowly, and walked with difficulty - when we walked from work, he always lagged behind, because he could not keep up. Plus, in the winter, he slipped and fell. He had either a broken arm or a dislocation," said a political prisoner from his unit.
The exact date of death is unknown. There is also no certainty whether Shtermer died in the colony or was taken to a hospital - a prison or civilian one. In the realities of Lukashenko's dictatorship, all such information is hidden.
