Previously, Elena Timoshchuk collaborated as a freelancer with the regional publications Vecherniy Brest, Brestskiy Kurier, Brestskaya Gazeta, the online publication Virtualny Brest, and the Brest Green Portal.

As local journalists note , Elena Tymoshchuk did not prepare publications on political topics during her collaboration with independent publications. Sometimes she wrote advertising articles and wrote on psychology topics, as she has a higher education in this specialty.

It is still not exactly known what caused the criminal prosecution of the journalist. According to the verdict, in addition to imprisonment, Elena was sentenced to a fine of 46,000 rubles. On 16.08.2024, an appeal hearing was held, and the verdict came into force.

On September 11, 2025, it became known that 52 prisoners of the Belarusian regime were forcibly transferred to the territory of Lithuania. Among them are citizens of European countries. Among those released is Elena Tymoshchuk.

Alexander was a reserve lieutenant colonel, served in the 38th separate guards airborne assault Brest brigade of the Airborne Forces. Recently, he worked as an individual entrepreneur, engaged in food additives. As sources told the publication , Alexander Kulinich died on April 9, 2024, in the Brest pretrial detention center due to ischemic heart disease: this cause is indicated in the death certificate. In Brest pretrial detention center No. 7, journalists were told that they had a prisoner with that name, but they refused to confirm the fact of death.

It is known that Alexander was detained for comments he left in 2020. This happened on February 29, 2024, in the village of Dorogovo, Korelichi District, Grodno Region. On March 1, the "repentant" video appeared in one of the Telegram channels close to the security forces. But it contained footage of the detention from an apartment building. Relatives and friends of the deceased say that the video from the apartment is not Alexander. And later in the video, Alexander himself says that he was detained "for comments on the Internet." "In one of the accounts, I wrote "cattle" under the president's speech," the man explained.

Alexander Kulinich was buried on his birthday, April 11, 2024, in his native Molodechno.

The case was heard by Judge Marina Skalkovich from April 16 to May 31, 2024.

The appeal against the verdict will be heard on July 12, 2024. Chairman of the Judicial Collegium Dmitry Karasinsky.

At the trial, Tatyana was accused of the fact that in October 2021 , “through correspondence on the social network Facebook, she intentionally and illegally disseminated information about personal data constituting a personal secret of an investigator of the criminal investigation department of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Mogilev District Executive Committee without his consent in connection with his official activities.” " As a result, an “unlimited circle of people” became familiar with the policeman’s personal data.

Presumably, before the trial, the woman was kept in Baranavichy pre-trial detention center No. 6: she herself lives in either the Lyakhovichi or Luninets districts, but in December 2023 she was tried twice in the Baranavichy court under Article 19.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (the second time she was tried via Skype). This follows from the decisions of the Baranavichy court regarding Makarova. In those administrative cases, the woman was given 10 days of arrest, a fine of 20 basic (740 rubles) and her phone was confiscated.

Trial outcome 13.03.2024
2 years 6 months restrictions of freedom with referral to an open-type correctional facility.
