In a pro-government video , the man says he came from Poland and was detained at the border for being with protesters at a rally on Sovetskaya Street with his friend Vladislav Lapin. The authors of the post claim that Lapin is fighting in Ukraine on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ilya was detained by security forces in August 2024 for participating in a post-election protest that took place in Brest in August 2020. A video appeared on a pro-government Telegram channel in which Ilya says that on August 10, 2020, he "stupidly went to Brest." He said he went out onto the roadway where "people were throwing stones, setting off fireworks, and building barricades." He also stated that he was at the protest with a friend who was already "serving a sentence."
In December 2024, Ilya was convicted under the article "organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them."
A video of the detained Vitaly was published by a pro-government Telegram channel.
On camera, the man says that he left "negative" comments about the current government and the war in Ukraine. He also made negative comments about Russians and Belarusians who support the current government.
The man's LinkedIn page says he works at Aetsoft as a Front End Developer .
It is unknown under what article the Minsk resident was detained and where he is now.
