According to pro-government telegram channels, four people were detained - they are called a "sleeper cell of extremists" who had "external connections" with Belarusian volunteers fighting in Ukraine. Among them is Igor.
All of them are from Gomel and, judging by their posts on social networks, have been friends for a long time, participating together in an international game of Beer Pong in Gomel.
After the brutal detention, the friends were forced to record a “repentance video” and say that they created a chat where they corresponded with each other, and after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, they allegedly insulted Lukashenko several times in correspondence, and also wrote “wrong” comments. Another accusation is that the guys “had external connections” with Belarusian volunteers who are fighting for Ukraine. Apparently, this was the basis for initiating a criminal case under the article “promoting extremist activities.”
On May 10, 2024, the appeal was considered and the verdict entered into force.

Ksenia, an employee of the IT company Game Stream, was detained on March 11, 2023, in Minsk. According to security officials, in 2020–2021, she made nine payments to solidarity funds via Facebook donations, totaling $425. Pro-government Telegram channels published a video of the search, during which a white-red-white flag, $20,000, and office equipment were found and confiscated from Ksenia Alkenova.
In July of that year, she was convicted and sentenced to imprisonment.
On December 13, 2025, she was released following a visit to Minsk by US President Donald Trump's special representative, John Cole, and taken to Ukraine.
On 25.08.2023, the appeal was considered. The verdict came into force.
In October 2024, he was released, having fully served his sentence as determined by the court.

The video showed a conversation between Ukrainian soldiers and relatives in Gomel.
Zolotarevsky lived in Minsk and worked in the carriage depot of the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Railways, living in a hostel.
After his arrest he was fired.

Anastasia, a mother of three, was detained at the end of 2022 and was under house arrest until the trial. According to the investigation, in October 2022, Podgaiskaya allegedly repeatedly sent photo and video files with text messages to the bot of the destructive Telegram channel of the extremist group.
The information sent to her contained information about the situation in the regions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, as well as planned activities at the combined arms training grounds.

The woman was accused of writing an insulting comment from her mobile phone in one of the Telegram channels in April 2022 towards Lukashenka, and in July 2022 - towards a representative of the Armed Forces of Belarus. Alla fully admitted her guilt and repented of her deed.
Alla is 54 years old, she has a minor child as a dependent.
