Nikita was convicted in December 2023 of "organizing and preparing actions that grossly violate public order, or actively participating in them" and sentenced to restricted freedom in an open facility. He pleaded not guilty at trial, explaining that he came to Sovetskaya Square on his way to the store, saw a crowd with white-red-white and red-green symbols, and assumed it was a rally in support of Lukashenko, so he joined.
