Tikhanovskaya announced the usurpation of power by the incumbent president and called for new and fair elections. On August 11, 2020, Tikhanovskaya left Belarus. Her husband Sergei Tikhanovsky, a blogger and politician, was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, Pavel Latushko, Olga Kovalkova, Maria Moroz, Sergei Dylevsky were tried in the same criminal case. In total, they were charged with 12 articles.
On January 11, Svyatlana Tikhanovskaya applied to the Minsk City Court demanding that she be granted the right to familiarize herself with the materials of the case in her trial in absentia. She also notified the court that she was going to exercise her right to a lawyer. She also wrote to the Minsk City and Republican Bar Associations that she wanted to contact the lawyer assigned to her and work out a position.
Svetlana Tikhanovskaya stressed that she considers the procedure of trial in absentia a violation of basic human rights and freedoms.

Inga was detained in October 2022 under an administrative article, after serving her term, she was not released. In 2020, Inga was detained under an administrative article for participating in protests, but the case was closed due to the statute of limitations.
According to the materials of the prosecution, Anna and her husband Dmitry , having learned that a mass event would be held in Minsk in August 2020, arrived in the city, in the area of the shopping center "On Nemiga", and together with others walked along Pobediteley Avenue to the Stele, and then and further, to the hotel "Victoria", where the convoy was stopped by police officers. During the procession, they used a white-red-white flag as a protest symbol and blocked traffic, as they went out with other participants of the action to the roadway of the avenue.
Alesya was convicted of "participation in group actions that grossly violate public order" in a criminal case opened after a protest that took place in Brest on September 13, 2020. During the protest, people sang and danced in circles, and a water cannon was used against them.
