Dmitry Gennadyevich Lukashevich is involved in politically motivated repressions in the Republic of Belarus. Lukashevich is responsible for the fact that, as a judge of the Frunzensky District Court of Minsk, he issues numerous politically motivated sentences against activists and participants in peaceful protests. In judicial practice, Dmitry Lukashevich considers not only administrative cases, but also criminal ones. As a result of his decisions, fines for a total of no less than 16,539 rubles and administrative arrests for a total of no less than 793 days have already been issued, and representatives of civil society of the Republic of Belarus have also been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment. In particular, on March 21, 2017, Lukashevich considered the case against O. Volchek under Part 1 of Article 23.34 of the Administrative Code. Then the court received materials with significant violations of the Procedural and Executive Code. The testimony of the witnesses did not correspond to the circumstances of the case and contradicted each other. The judge found Volchek guilty. On June 23, 2021, Dmitry Lukashevich sentenced political prisoner Nikolai Denisevich to four years in a general regime colony. In 2020, he sentenced activist Valentin Trotsky to 15 days of administrative arrest just for being at a picket to collect signatures for nominating alternative candidates. Thus, Lukashevich Dmitry Gennadyevich is responsible for human rights violations and undermining the principles of the rule of law, as well as for promoting repression against representatives of civil society and the democratic opposition. His work within the judiciary is focused on maintaining the position of the existing government, rather than on enforcing the law. Lukashevich’s actions contribute to human rights violations, strengthening the power of Alexander Lukashenko and increasing politically motivated repression in the Republic of Belarus.
