Candidate of Historical Sciences, adjunct of the Historical Institute of the University of Wroclaw. Melnikov specialized in military history and the history of the period of Western Belarus as part of Poland (1921-1939). He published a dozen and a half books on the topic of Western Belarus. In 2020, he was awarded the L. Sapieha Prize for the preservation of the historical heritage of Belarus.

It is known for sure that he was arrested and is being held in a pretrial detention center. Melnikov's last activity on Instagram dates back to January 21, 2024.

Melnikov is being tried for an interview he gave to an unnamed independent media outlet in 2022. The trial is being held in open mode. An excerpt from the indictment was quoted by SB:

"In 2022, Igor Melnikov, motivated by national hatred and discord, as well as political and ideological hatred, knowingly knowing about the extremist activities of participants in an information resource banned in Belarus, gave them an interview in order to develop and popularize media of this kind and involve more citizens in such activities," the prosecutor said. It is noted that the historian gave comments to the media both in Belarus and in Poland. Melnikov reportedly pleaded guilty

Victoria Volchek confirmed during interrogation that she received the parcel - Valery Vodin asked her to receive the parcel. BSU student Anna Savochkina and her mother Tatyana Rusak took the tile from Volchek and buried it in the cemetery in Kolodishchi. The second tile was picked up by dental technician Andrei Grigoriev and taken to the gardening partnership "Avtoremontnik 124" near Olekhnovichi.

Anna Savochkina completed three courses of the Faculty of Economics at BSU, but since September 2022 she has been enrolled in the first year of the Faculty of Biology at BSU, group leader. Before the institute, she graduated from the I.O. Akhremchik Gymnasium-College of Arts, majoring in music. Detained along with her mother.

Lyudmila Deineko is 40 years old. In 2005, she graduated from Polotsk State University with a degree in jurisprudence. First she worked in the internal affairs department of the Minsk regional executive committee, then in the justice department of the Minsk city executive committee, and as a consultant in the court of the Zavodsky district of Minsk.

The trial begins on July 22. Deineko is accused of “calling for sanctions,” “insulting Lukashenko,” and “inciting hostility or discord.”

Lyudmila has two minor children.

Andrey is 29 years old, born in Minsk. He graduated from the capital's high school and medical college. Before his arrest, he unofficially worked as a dental technician in a private dental center.

He has been working as a table tennis coach for more than thirty years. Yuri is the only international judge in this discipline in the Brest region. Previously, he was a member of the board of the Belarusian Table Tennis Federation.

Logodyuk is also known as one of the best trainers in Belarus in sports. He trains people with musculoskeletal problems. His students often win championships both in Belarus and in other countries. The man helped hundreds of people with disabilities live normal lives.

He is being tried for “promoting extremist activities.” This could be either a comment to the “wrong” resource or, for example, a transfer of money to a political prisoner.

Dmitry Suvkhanov is the brother of Marat Suvkhanov, who died in Ukraine in February 2023, fighting on the side of the Russian occupation forces.

The moderator of the meeting in the Svetlogorsk district court was again Kristina Kasyanova. She considered the charge against Dmitry Suvkhanov under Part 2 of Art. 367, with which the authorities punish for slandering Lukashenko.

Thus, the authorities violated Suvkhanov’s right to have his case examined by an independent and impartial court. After all, citizen Kasyanova is in a state of labor dependence on a person whom Suvkhanov allegedly slandered: Menaut Lukashenko, by his decree, appointed Kasyanova to the position of judge and if he is dissatisfied with her actions, only he can dismiss her from that position.
