Initially, there were 12 defendants in the case, of which only one has been at large since the fall of 2020: David Slashchev. At the first hearings in the case, he was present and testified, but did not appear at the next one: the guy was put on the wanted list and his preventive measure was changed from a written undertaking not to leave the place to detention.
According to the charges, on the morning of May4,near the Transitstore,Bondarenkomade obscene remarks about Lukashenko in the presence of other citizens.According to the prosecution,the Ukrainian's motive was"supportingideasof socialintolerancetoward representatives of the Belarusiangovernmentandopenlyexpressinghostilitytowardthem."One of the people presentcontactedthe police and even provided a photograph of the car in which Yuri Bondarenko and his friend left.The following day, the Ukrainianwas arrestedon chargesof insulting Lukashenko .
According to calculations , he was supposed to be released in the fall of 2025.Possibly deported.
After his arrest, hewas immediately placedin pre-trial detention center No. 4 in Mogilev.
At the trial, Bondarenko admitted his guilt.
