He was detained on August 17 at home in the agricultural town of Khotezhino. After the arrest, GUBOPiK officers recorded a "repentant" video with a former riot police officer, where he admits that on August 9-11 last year "he was in a convoy in order to counter law enforcement officers." At the same time, propaganda telegram channels presented information about his detention as a persecution of those who resigned from the civil service in protest in 2020: “I burned my service certificate and went to riots.” Although, in fact, Klimovich resigned from the OMON 8 years before.
