He was detained after accidentally hitting his head on a low-hanging state flag while entering a Kobrin store. Out of emotion, the 23-year-old guy tore off the canvas and threw it to the ground.
It is known that the prosecutor asked for 1 year and 6 months in prison for tearing down the state flag. The guy had an unserved sentence from a previous conviction (a year and a half of home chemicals), and the state prosecution requested a total of 2 years in prison.
According to human rights activists , he will be released in the summer of 2024 , having fully served the sentence imposed by the court.
