Evgeny was arrested and convicted for, according to the charges, “posting comments on the Internet from October 2019 to July 2020 calling for violence against law enforcement officers and the president, as well as insults against the head of state.”
According to human rights activists, he was released in February 2025, having fully served his sentence.
