Dmitry was detained on October 21, 2020, and was brutally beaten. As a result, he spent two days in the hospital with a moderate head injury and multiple injuries to his right hip. He was convicted of hitting a police officer in civilian clothes who was filming a street concert, as well as for "restricting the victim's freedom, attempting to strike twice, and making threats."
He was released in August 2023, having fully served his sentence as determined by the court.
