Until recently, Alexander Korzyuk headed the Finance Department for Housing and Utilities, Transport, and Communications at the Ministry of Finance. He has never given a public interview. It is only known that he is a good chess player.
The trial was held behind closed doors.
According to former political prisoners who served time with Alexander in the same penal colony, he was registered as prone to extremism and deprived of parcels and visits from his family. He pleaded not guilty.
Once the sentence takes effect, you can only write letters to the prisoner. Under Art. 85 of the Penal Code of Belarus, convicts cannot receive money transfers from anyone other than close relatives.
