Nikolai was accused of participating in a protest march in Minsk in 2020 together with a group of people, moving along Pobediteley Avenue, entering the roadway and interfering with public transport, thereby “grossly violating” public order.

The man stated that he mostly moved along the sidewalk, went out onto the roadway, only to cross the road. It did not interfere with public transport, as the road was blocked by law enforcement officers.

Mykola Butsky worked as a storekeeper, has a higher education and is raising two minor children.
