Marat spent his childhood in Kletsk. After finishing school, he studied at the Lviv Higher Military-Political School.
For a long time, he divided his time between Belarus and Latvia. Recently, according to social media , he was based in Latvia.
Bushenko founded and managed several trading companies in various countries, including the Polish Goods Express Trading, the German wwi UG, the Czech Republic's MAG TRIO and Interclouds, as well as the Russian Rekordis Favorit LLC and the Minsk-based Comfort Active LLC. He also previously operated businesses in Estonia and Moldova.
Marat has serious health issues : type 2 diabetes, diabetic polyneuropathy of the lower extremities, and hypertension. It is known that his doctor recommended he sleep on the first bunk.
In September 2026, Marat was undergoing treatment in the endocrinology department of a Mogilev hospital. There, the political prisoner was diagnosed with retinopathy and retinal vascular changes. However, in the correctional facility, Marat is unable to receive the full range of medical care he needs, which could threaten his life.
