Leanid studied at Polotsk State University; in 2019 he took first place outside the competition at a robotics tournament held there.
According to the prosecution, on 10 and 11 August 2020 Leanid collected information that allegedly could be used to prepare participants in mass riots and shared it in Telegram chats for residents of Navapolatsk and the surrounding area. He was detained in November 2021 and held in custody until the trial.
In April 2022, Leanid was found guilty in a criminal case brought under the article "Training or other preparation of persons for participation in mass riots" for sharing this information in Telegram chats.
According to human rights defenders' calculations, he was released in spring 2024 after serving his full sentence.
