Andrei worked as an engineer at Belgosproekt.
On 27 February 2022, an anti-war rally took place in Minsk. In a video that later spread online, Andrei and another man were walking towards a serviceman, who was backing away. On 2 March of the same year, Andrei was detained and immediately made to record a "repentance" video. In court he said that he had been thrown to the floor and threatened, including with sexual violence, was not fed for five days and was then put in a punishment cell.
In August 2022, Andrei was found guilty in a criminal case brought under the article "Violence or threat of violence against an employee of the internal affairs bodies", although he had not touched anyone and had only walked towards the retreating soldier. He did not plead guilty. In December of the same year, the Supreme Court returned the case to the Minsk City Court to correct procedural flaws.
Released in September 2023 after serving his full sentence.
