According to the state prosecutor, Dmitry Medved took an active part in the riots, justifying his actions with a far-fetched pretext - election fraud. On October 12, 2011, Judge Elena Rudnitskaya of the Moskovsky District Court of Minsk announced a verdict against Svyatoslav Baranovich, accused under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (participation in mass riots). Svyatoslav Baranovich was found guilty for participating in protests and sentenced to 3 years in prison without being sent to a closed institution.
