Yevgeny was arrested in September 2021 as part of a criminal case opened following the deaths of KGB officer Dmitry Fedosyuk and IT specialist Andrei Zeltser in Minsk. In the spring of 2022, he was convicted of "inciting social discord" and "insulting a government official."
Evgeny worked at BelAZ for over 20 years. He has two adult children and grandchildren.
On May 24, 2022, the KGB included him in the list of persons “involved in terrorist activities,” as well as in the list of citizens involved in “extremist activities.”
The sentence against Evgeny has entered into legal force; the exact term of his sentence and the place of his imprisonment are being clarified.
