In August 2020, Semchenko resigned in protest against the brutal dispersal of peaceful protests. Dmitry and his wife were detained on September 15 in Minsk. Yulia was later released, and Dmitry was left behind bars pending trial. A day later, the man was arrested for 15 days. But after 15 days, Dmitry was not released and was sentenced to another 13 days of arrest under Article 19.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for distributing "extremist materials" on his social networks. When Dmitry Semchenko was not released on October 13, 2022, it became known that a criminal case had been opened against him.
According to human rights activists , he was released in July 2025, having fully served his sentence.
In August 2022, Sergei was sentenced to 15 days of arrest for a repost from a telegram channel recognized as an extremist formation in the Republic of Belarus.
But after the administrative arrest, Sergei did not leave the IVS: he was charged with criminal article 130. As it became known, the case was already going to court, forensic examinations were carried out — but suddenly the man was charged with another criminal article. This time according to Part 3 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
The first sentence was pronounced on 11/28/2022 , Sergei is waiting for a second trial.

According to the prosecution, in September 2020, Kolpak publicly posted "negative comments addressed to police officers, civil servants, and government officials in a Telegram chat, inciting and calling for violence against members of the aforementioned social groups." He was also accused of repeatedly posting text articles in a Telegram chat in Minsk from August 8 to September 28, 2020, in which he called on drivers to create traffic jams, sabotage work, and protest, including by blocking traffic.
According to human rights activists , he will be released in the fall of 2025.

Sergei was arrested in December 2021 for distributing "protest" newspapers, but during the investigation, the number of criminal code articles under which he was charged increased to five. At trial, the case was sent for further investigation, during which Sergei was added to the list of "terrorists."
In December 2022, he was convicted of a number of criminal charges, including "inciting other social hatred and discord" and "assisting extremist activity," and sentenced to imprisonment.
On December 13, 2025, he was released following a visit to Minsk by US President Donald Trump's special representative, John Cole, and taken to Ukraine.
According to the investigation, Alexander Pugach from October 2020 to March 2022 insulted the head of state, as well as government officials, including the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, in connection with the performance of their official duties in Telegram.
Judge Ruslan Tsaruk appointed, in addition to imprisonment, compensation for moral damage in the amount of 10 000 BYN and 3 200 BYN.
