Uladzimir Dzemchanka was first detained on 11 August 2020: police drew up a report on violating the procedure for holding mass events and placed him in a temporary detention facility.
In January 2022, he was detained again, and just two weeks later he was found guilty in a criminal case opened under the article "Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them" for taking part in a post-election protest held in Zhlobin on 9 August 2020.
According to human rights defenders’ estimates, he was released in July 2023 after serving the full sentence imposed by the court.
