Nikita was found guilty of "desecration of state symbols." According to the prosecution, demonstrating an offensive and disdainful attitude toward the Belarusian national flag, he climbed onto the roof of a building and tore the flag from its pole, damaging the staff. He and Yaroslav Geben then took photographs with the flag and filmed a video of it being used. The prosecution claims the flag was repeatedly thrown to the ground and into the bushes.
According to human rights activists, he was released in the spring of 2024, having fully served his sentence.
