Marina is an activist with the Mothers 328 movement. She has filed numerous complaints regarding her son's unlawful detention and criminal conviction. Marina's son was sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2017.
Marina was detained in the winter of 2022 in a criminal case opened for "slander" against Lukashenko.
In May 2022, Marina was found guilty on two counts and sentenced to restricted freedom in an open correctional facility. In April 2024, a court hearing was held to consider increasing her sentence, after which Marina was transferred to a penal colony.
Marina was released in September 2024 under a pardon.
