Kirill served in the police since 2007. An operational detective, he resigned from the force in August 2020 and moved to IT. He was arrested on February 19, 2023, right at the border: he had been living in Poland for six months and had come to Brest to visit his wife and young child.
Little is known about the criminal case against Kirill: the trial was held behind closed doors. It is only known that the case was related to the "Black Book of Belarus."
An appeal court hearing is scheduled for October 10, 2023.
On September 16, 2026, he was released after a visit to Minsk by US President Donald Trump's special representative, John Cole, and taken to Lithuania.

✍️️ Remember that every letter is censored. This means that your letters are read by strangers whose main goal is to limit inmates' access to information or to use it against the prisoners or even you.
So try to avoid:

👉 statements against the authorities and public servants
👉 foul language
👉 discussion of the circumstances of the criminal case
