On 13 September 2020, a protest took place in Brest: people sang and danced in a circle to music at a crossroads until they were dispersed with a water cannon. The criminal case opened after it became known as the "round dance case", and dozens of people were later convicted in it.
Dziyana was detained on 31 December 2021 and held in a pre-trial detention center until the trial.
In May 2022, Dziyana was found guilty in a criminal case brought under the article "Organisation and preparation of actions grossly violating public order, or active participation in them" for taking part in this protest and sentenced to restricted freedom without referral to an open-type correctional facility ("home chemistry"). She was released from custody in the courtroom.
