On November 15, 2020, Aliaksei was detained in Minsk during a protest. During the detention, people in balaclavas beat him and knocked out his tooth. Later, a court fined him in an administrative case.
At the end of February 2022, Aliaksei was detained together with his wife Nastassia Malashuk.
In July 2022, Aliaksei was found guilty in a criminal case initiated under the article "Organisation and preparation of actions grossly violating public order, or active participation in them" for taking part in the protests held in Minsk in 2020 and sentenced to restricted freedom without referral to an open-type correctional facility.
In December 2023, by decision of the probation inspectorate, Aliaksei served five days of administrative arrest at Akrestsina.
