During the Soviet era, he studied in the Ukrainian city of Krivoy Rog, worked at Mozyrpromstroy, and in 1992, together with friends, founded the company "Lotus", of which he is still a co-owner.

On the evening of June 28, 2024, news broke of the release of five political prisoners from Belarusian prison colonies.
