Accomplice in crimes against the rights and freedoms of citizens of Belarus. Dmitry Vyacheslavovich Shanin is an employee of judicial authorities involved in politically motivated repressions. On February 19, 2021, he refused reinstatement and compensation to 13 dismissed Grodno Azot employees who joined the nationwide strike. On October 26, they gathered at the entrance of the plant to protest. More than 50 people were detained. After this, layoffs began at the plant, the main reason being absence from work for more than three hours. Being in a temporary detention center was also considered truancy. Lawyer of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union Alexander Poryadkov noted that the employer violated the collective agreement and tariff agreement, did not comply with the dismissal procedure, did not take explanations from the workers, and did not obtain the union’s consent to dismissal. However, according to Dmitry Shanin, no evidence of the illegality of the dismissals was presented.
