Ruslan was found guilty in May 2021 of "insulting a government official" for a comment published on the "Punishermen of Belarus" Telegram channel about A.F. Olshevsky, deputy chief and head of the public safety police at the Partizansky District Department of Internal Affairs in Minsk.
Ruslan was found guilty again in September 2021 in a criminal case opened under the article "insulting a government official" for a comment left in October 2020 on the same Telegram channel addressed to Vladimir Kozlovsky, assistant to the head of the Leninsky District Police Department in Grodno, who was allegedly beaten at a campaign picket, after which Sergei Tikhanovsky was detained.
Following the examination of two criminal cases, Ruslan was sentenced to restricted freedom without being sent to an open correctional facility, as well as to pay a large amount of compensation for moral damages.
