Denis was found guilty in November 2021 of "insulting a government official" for a comment he left on the social media site Odnoklassniki under a photo of Igor Volnich, a traffic police officer from the Gantsevichi District Department of Internal Affairs, pinning a detainee to the ground with his knee.
In December 2022, Denis was convicted again of "insulting a government official" for a comment he left on VKontakte addressed to Vadim Denisenko, Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. According to the prosecution, the comment contained a negative and offensive assessment of the commander's personality.
In June 2023, a court hearing was held on the issue of "replacing a restriction of freedom without committing to an open correctional facility." The outcome of the hearing is unknown.
