Alexander was found guilty of insulting a government official for a comment he left on Facebook about T. O. Pakhomenko, head of the prevention department of the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs in Mogilev. According to the prosecution, the comment contained a negative assessment of the "victim." Alexander was sentenced to restricted freedom and sent to an open correctional facility.
In February 2025, a court hearing in absentia was held within the framework of special proceedings on the issue of increasing the severity of the punishment.
