Nikolai Konstantinovich Kononchuk, as Chairman of the Minsk District Court, took part in handing down politically motivated sentences against protesters and civic activists. Under his chairmanship, the court convicted Natalia Krasko, Sergey Miselya, Sergey Sh., Viktor Losik, Sergey Monich, Aliaksandr Dziashchenia and other citizens. These decisions involved long terms of administrative detention and heavy fines for participating in peaceful protests. His activities are regarded as participation in politically motivated repression against citizens of the Republic of Belarus.
