Sergei was arrested in December 2021 for distributing "protest" newspapers, but during the investigation, the number of criminal code articles under which he was charged increased to five. Ekaterina was arrested in early September 2022 along with her husband for hanging a white-red-white flag and a Ukrainian flag on the facade of a multi-story building in Minsk on charges of hooliganism.

Two weeks after their arrest, the Ministry of Internal Affairs designated the Zello channel through which the Minsk residents coordinated the protest as an extremist group.

In April 2023, Ekaterina was found guilty of "creating or participating in an extremist group" and "assisting extremist activity" and sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony.

On December 13, 2025, she was released following a visit to Minsk by US President Donald Trump's special representative, John Cole, and taken to Ukraine.

Pavel was convicted on three counts.

At the end of 2020, he left a comment in the telegram channel that humiliated the dignity of Interior Minister Yuri Karayev. Also, according to the prosecution's version, Larin left a comment about Lukashenko — the post was found offensive. And on February 24, 2022, Larin spoke about a special military operation in the courtyard telegram chat of the Malinovka microdistrict. The comments themselves were not voiced at the trial.

At the trial, the political prisoner admitted his guilt and confirmed that he had indeed left comments.
