Inna Petrovna Zubko acted as public prosecutor in criminal cases related to citizens’ participation in peaceful protests against the rigging of the 2020 election. In particular, she prosecuted the cases of Ilya Turkov, Evgeny Kalinovsky and Mikhail Glukhovsky. All of them were charged under Articles 342 and 364 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (“Organisation and preparation of actions grossly violating public order” and “Violence or threat of violence against an internal affairs officer”) for taking part in peaceful protests. Her actions contributed to the criminal prosecution of citizens for exercising their constitutional rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.
