Yaroslav Ivanyuk is an ethnic Belarusian, but was born and lives in Poland. He graduated from a Belarusian school in Podlasie and was raised in a Belarusian environment. He was a member of the Belarusian student association. He worked in the Belarusian editorial office of Polish Radio in Warsaw and on the program "Under the Sign of Pursuit" on Polish Radio in Bialystok. For five years, he was the program director of the Belarusian service of Radio Racija.

“My life is connected with the Belarusian people, and the fact that I am involved in it is a natural thing for me,” he notes.

Yaroslav is the founder and publisher of the Kamunikat online library. The Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus blocked access to the Kamunikat.org online library without explanation in 2023. The Kamunikat.org foundation's office is located in Białystok. The Ministry of Information did not inform the Kommunikat foundation of its intentions or reasons for blocking access to the online library.

On March 3, 2026, a coalition of print publishers, including the Kamunikat.org Foundation , Lohvinau Publishing House, and Andrei Yanushkevich Publishing, was added to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' updated list of "extremist groups." The list mentions Yaroslav Ivanyuk, Dmitry Kolos, Igor Logvinov, Vaclav Bogdanovich, Andrei Yanushkevich, and Alexander Yevdakha in connection with this group . The publishers' websites and social media accounts were also added.

A well-known Belarusian publisher, founder and director of the independent publishing house "Logvinaў" (Lohvinau).

In 2014, Igor Logvinov was awarded the prestigious International Publishers Association (IPA) Freedom to Publish Award for his courage in defending freedom of speech. For a long time, the popular "Logvinov Bookstore" operated in Minsk, serving as an important cultural hub, but was later closed by the authorities during a crackdown on independent cultural venues.

In subsequent years, activities continued mainly outside of Belarus (in particular, in Vilnius) due to the impossibility of legal operation within the country.

On March 3, 2026, a coalition of print publishers, including the Kamunikat.org Foundation, Lohvinau Publishing House, and Andrei Yanushkevich Publishing, was added to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' updated list of "extremist groups." The list mentions Yaroslav Ivanyuk, Dmitry Kolos, Igor Logvinov, Vaclav Bogdanovich, Andrei Yanushkevich, and Alexander Yevdakha in connection with this group . Yanushkevich Publishing House is one of the leaders in the Belarusian literature market and the commissioner of many translations of foreign literature into Belarusian, including bestsellers such as Harry Potter and The Witcher.

The Bogdanovich family of publishers—a married couple, Elena and Vaclav, and their daughters, Antonina and Victoria —were detained in Minsk, along with a mass arrest of book publishers and distributors. Law enforcement officers raided the employees of both active and closed publishing houses.

It was later revealed that Elena and Antonina had been released. All that was known about Victoria was that she was serving an administrative sentence; whether she was subsequently released is unknown.
