Ekaterina is from Lida, but in recent years she lived in the ancient settlement of Benyakoni in the Voronovo district of the Grodno region.
At the local high school, the woman held the position of deputy director for educational work.
In addition to her administrative duties, Ekaterina worked as a physical education and health teacher. The students she trained repeatedly won prizes at district and regional stages of the national Olympiad.
This spring, the teacher was detained and then convicted of household chemicals.

In 2008, she graduated from the College of Architecture and Construction with a degree in architectural engineering and worked at the Belarusian Research Institute of Urban Planning. After returning from maternity leave, she took up photography seriously: she completed several professional courses and photographed portraits, families, and weddings in a fine art style.
Zlata was detained this year and, judging by the break in online communication, was held in pretrial detention for about four months before her trial.
