Yuri served as a police officer in the Lida security department and worked as a security guard after retiring. When the investigation became known, he was forced to resign. Yuri was arrested right at his workplace, at the Euroopt store. According to the prosecution, he reposted a post on his Odnoklassniki page criticizing the election campaign and results, which was deemed slanderous and attributable to Lukashenko serious crimes. He also published the same material on the Telegram channels "Krynica-Chat" and "Ikhtyandry Grodna." The court sentenced him to restricted freedom with a referral order. Yuri remained in custody pending sentencing.
The man was accused of leaving an offensive comment about Lukashenko on the social network VKontakte, in which he accused the politician of committing a crime against humanity and an act of terrorism. Vadim was held in custody until the trial. He fully admitted his guilt and repented of his actions.
Vadim has a secondary specialized education and worked as a welder.
According to human rights activists, he was released in September 2024, having fully served his sentence as determined by the court.
