Vitaly was found guilty in October 2021 of insulting an official and threatening to use violence against an Interior Ministry employee. The charges stemmed from a comment left on the Telegram channel "Strong News" in late August 2020, addressed to Lieutenant Colonel and Military Commissar Krivonosov.
According to human rights activists, he was released in the winter of 2025, having fully served his sentence imposed by the court.
