She was detained along with her husband in September 2025.
Tatyana worked for many years as a teacher at Kindergarten No. 518 in Minsk's Sokol neighborhood. She also worked with children from an inclusive group, including those with autism. Her husband, 56-year-old Dmitry, works in renovations and worked as a laborer at the same kindergarten.
The Korsakovs' home was raided in the evening and searched. Security forces also called Pelageya, Dmitry and Tatyana's daughter, who now lives in Ukraine, and forced Dmitry Korsakov to tell her that her mother was in the hospital. This later turned out to be untrue. They most likely pressured the young woman to return to Belarus. Until 2020, the Korsakovs' daughter, Pelageya, worked at the same kindergarten #518, participated in protests, and in September 2021, she moved to Ukraine. With the outbreak of full-scale war, she decided not to leave for a safer country but to volunteer. In addition to her main job as an SMS messenger, Pelageya, for example, evacuates civilians and coordinates volunteer work in the event of missile strikes.
Tatyana and Dmitry's daughter believes that "their only 'crime' was that I was in Ukraine, and we kept in touch, calling each other. And my parents were worried about me. It turns out that this is the basis for the services' wild imagination."
Tatyana has long had problems with her blood pressure and knees. She constantly had to undergo expensive injections, and it's unclear whether she currently has access to the necessary treatment.
How to write a letter
✏️ A postcard with words of encouragement (a poem by your favorite author, song lyrics, or a beautiful quote). Trust us, even such simple gestures are very meaningful to a person in jail.
✏️ Your life events. To a person who is in isolation for a long time, any story about your routine endeavors will be a window into normal life. Your day-to-day worries and mundane matters are much more interesting than the daily grind of life behind bars.
✏️ It is important to share news. Mention the most notable and interesting occurrences depending on your pen-pal's interests.
✍️️ Remember that every letter is censored. This means that your letters are read by strangers whose main goal is to limit inmates' access to information or to use it against the prisoners or even you.
So try to avoid:

👉 statements against the authorities and public servants
👉 foul language
👉 discussion of the circumstances of the criminal case
