On May 23, 2021, Sofya Sapega and Roman Protasevich were detained in Minsk - they were flying from Athens to Vilnius, but the plane made an emergency landing in Belarus after a false report of a bomb on board. The trial was held behind closed doors. As a result, the girl was charged under two articles (initially there were seven).
During the trial in Grodno, Sophia was ordered to pay compensation to the victims for moral damage in the amount of 167,500 rubles (more than 65 thousand dollars) and a court fee of 7,488 rubles.
06/07/2023 was pardoned.
Trial outcome 06.05.2022: 6 years of imprisonment in colony under general regime conditions, 167500 rubles of compensation.
